Dianna Cates Dunn » Window - a diptych

What is a window? Besides being a hole in a solid object -usually a wall - a window allows for sensual egress. We see out, we see in. We allow noise to enter and we can be heard outside. We bring fresh air in and allow disagreeable smells to vent out. A window makes us feel connected to the world 'out there' while still being 'in here'. Where is your here?

**This painting is a diptych. Painted on two canvases that measure 24" x 12" x  2".
