"Tula's Morning Reverie"

When a pleasant surprise comes your way I think it needs to relished and, maybe, even celebrated. I received such a surprise this past week on - of all places - Instagram.  I started posting images of my work and quotes about art probably 9 months ago or so. It's been fun to receive likes and comments from viewers located around the world, just as it has been very enjoyable viewing the art from other artists. Besides, using Instagram is darned easy, even for those of us who sometimes do battle with technology in general! So, last week as I was reviewing any 'likes' and comments I received, I was most pleasantly surprised to receive a comment from dianaverkade from the Netherlands. Her comment was unusual in that it was made up entirely of hashtags. Hmmm, I thought, all these hashtags were either directly related to me or to art world....what was this all about?  It was only when I went to Diana's Instagram paged that I understood what a wonderful compliment she had paid to me. You see, Diana has set up a most beautiful Instagram page where she shares the art of artists she admires to share with her friends and followers. She states at the beginning of her page "Incredible how much great art is out there. I find the best artwork and share it with art lovers, I am one of them."

Should you chose to visit Diana's Instagram page (dianaverkade) you will find a unique and beautifully crafted page that is, in my experience, different from other Instagram pages, including my own. Each artist that Diana adds to her site has six of their artworks shown along with a succinct description of Diana's reaction to that artists body of work. Her summation of my works reads as follows:

Story telling Tula, the woman who can do everything she puts her mind at, a woman like any of us.

Femininity, Feminism, Brains & Emotions

Truly, I could have not done a better summation in so few a words as Diana has done. Talk about gratification for many years work???.....I can't as I become speechless.  HOWEVER, both Tula and I can kick up our heels in a bit a dance!.....
